I took today the 61-11 quiz. It was taking about parts of speech: adjectives. It was good. There was many examples about finding the adjective in the sentence like: Infomercials are rarely believable and the answer is believable. I had two mistakes. The first one is A penguin cannot fly; it uses its wings to swim underwater. I thought the answer is fly but I was wrong and the answer is its, because Its is a possessive pronoun functioning as an adjective modifying the noun wings. The second mistake was His car squealed loudly whenever he turned sharply to the left and I thought loudly but the right answer is his. 61-13 was a little bit difficult. It was about adverbs and most of the questions was easy like Clean water is very scarce in some parts of the world and the answer is very, because Very is an adverb; it modifies the adjective scarce. I had two mistakes the first one was Most babies get their lower front teeth first. I thought most but the answer was first, because the adverb is first; it modifies the verb get. Most is an adjective modifying the noun babies. The other mistake which I haven' understand it yet was strange. Despite the threatening clouds, we were not allowed to bring our umbrellas into the stadium and the answer not and I don't know why.
